Hosting a Presidential Debate Watch Party was a Great Idea!

You gotta love it when a good idea becomes a great one. When it was suggested that the Spady Museum host a Presidential Debate Watch Party for the third and final debate of this election season, it really seemed like a good idea.

But at the end of the evening, after people filed out of the Williams Cottage, it was clear – it was fantastic idea!  The Spady staff and board members welcomed a full house of engaged, interested and vocal citizens, watching and commenting on the Oct. 22 debate on America’s foreign policy and strategy. Of course, the debate veered quite often into the economy and domestic policy, but it wasn’t just the candidates who had something to say.

Following the debate, which took place down the street at Lynn University, the opinionated group shared what they felt were the most important issues of the day and what the candidates should really be working on. Boy, did we talk! And eat … the ladies of the neighborhood provided a full buffet of food for the occasion.

Our next event is Nov. 4, when we welcome the neighborhood to a Football Party. We hope the match-up is just as competitive, lively and energetic! Thanks to all – Republicans and Democrats – who joined us. View us on TV! 

Politics and Pigskin at the Spady Museum

No matter what kind of match-up you prefer — politics or pigskin — The Spady Museum is offering new programs to suit your taste. On Oct. 22, President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney will answer questions on foreign affairs and policy during the third and final Presidential Debate at Lynn University in Boca Raton. The Spady will be holding a Debate Watch party at the Williams Cottage.

The next month, the community is welcomed to a Football Party on Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., also in the Williams Cottage. It’s a match up between the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts. Guests will have an opportunity to win two tickets to the Florida Classic with hotel stay.
